So in the last week, the office has received a bit of hate email, voice mails and we even received a fax. most of the stuff is some ignorant stuff like the fax said:
This fax was sent from another corporation. We have the number and information, we are following through. It’s just amazing that these people feel ok spewing their hate, leaving their phone numbers and emails, do you think that just because you are not facing the people you send your hate to that there isn’t going to be a response? I wanted to file reports with the police and I’m working on it. So for all those coming from the DogHouse forums, you best think twice about what you send to us because I’m going to do my best to put you on police records, with your email addresses, and phone numbers. Never ever doubt that we won’t use the law to prosecute you.
Now, onto less heated topics
Affirmative Action. There are two issues coming. So the first is the Supreme Court Decision on school district usage of Aff Axn in student dispersement. It’s not looking good since the court is so conservative and they have already ruled against partial birth abortions which is concern because they didn’t put any exception clause for the possibility of threatening a mother’s life.
However on the horizon is the “Super Tuesday” that our favorite clown, Ward Connerly is moving forward. Ward, (since we are on a first name basis) Ward is targeting the following states: Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri and Arizona. Can anyone stop this man please?! Also found a good article about California, 10 years after the loss of aff axn.
Back on the National front, the Hate Crime Bill was passed in the House. Yay! However the White House has decided there’s a huge possibility that it will Veto it. Fools. Not only that but the GOP in the House was trying to set it up to fail by calling for protection for Armed Services and Seniors and when the Democrats said ok, they blocked the move to add those groups to the protective clause. Could their hypocrisies get any worse?
In addition, it’s been proven that Bush hires less diversity to lower positions. Top positions seem to get a good filling but lower ranked positions are less divers than when it was under Clinton. Yeah and we all know that the lower ranked are the ones who make the real decisions, decisions like, VETOing the Hate crimes bill? What?!
And let’s talk about the Immigration Bill. The Dems are getting tired of the White House’s stalling and bad proposal. The Democrats just might write up their own bill (probably taken from last year) to bring to the floor. I don’ t know if that’s a good idea but I’m also not happy with how much the Democrats are seeming to be willing to trade issues to get this bill passed, such as family reunification or lack of due process for undocumented citizens.
Maybe it might be better if we had a woman in the white house? Who knows, but I wonder why everyone else has some top woman in power and the US has such a hard time in just letting women out of the domestic houses into the white house? Don’t cite rice to me, you will hear a wholenother story.
Last two articles are more pop culture. One talks about aa/pi media examples of men and how the most recent and out there is Cho from VTech and how that’s all people see and think AA/PI are. It’s a good article that brings it all together concisely. The last is an article about Jin. Everyone knows him
He’s the AA/PI rapper on the circuit, you know “Learn to speak chinese”. There aren’t many indepth articles on him I feel explore behind the whole chinese rapper gimmick. This does a good job.
alright peoples, that’s it for today. Peace. Last thing: Check out OCA’s new Blog, yea we are blogging at work! How great is that, I get paid to blog!
yay! i like this format.
About JV and Elvis – what I’m disgusted the most at is not even the the radio segment itself. I’m more disgusted at the defense and justification that a lot of white people have offered on the web and in the media. When will they stop trying to tell us what we should and should not be offended by?
